Missy Gore, a two-year old chestnut filly with chronic diarrhoea.

Missy, a 2-year old chestnut filly, who had chronic diarrhoea. Missy Gore, from Co. Limerick, presented as a two-year old with chronic diarrhoea since shortly after birth. She was underweight and had a poor coat. She had to be on probiotics and kaolin daily to minimise diarrhoea. After doing a full examination, acupuncture needles were placed and left in place for ten minutes. This treatment was repeated weekly for four weeks. The diarrhoea stopped, her coat became normal and she put on weight. Since her treatment she has had three foals. The diarrhoea has never returned.
